Special Ed Team

Mrs. Janey and I continue to be the members of the K-5 special education team. Mrs. Janey tends to take on the case management of students who are identified with learning disabilities and cognitive delays, and I tend to case manage students who have emotional or behavioral disabilities, other health impairments and autism spectrum disorders. Both Mrs. Janey and I do case manage and provide services across the different disability categories as well as support one another by providing services for students on one another's case load.

Mrs. Zack and Mrs. Stockinger provide the speech and language services within our building for all students aged three and above. Mrs. Zack is here full time and Mrs. Stockinger is currently here two days a week. Mrs. Vangen-Weeks is our early childhood special education teacher, and she provides services to children aged three to the age of kindergarten. Our special education cooperative, Benton-Stearns Education District, provides for the special education services provided for those students identified from the ages birth to three years of age.
